Adams Stewart Architects designed Baldwin Preparatory Academy to have career technical classes on one side of the building and core classes on the other, connected by a central hub for teachers and administrative staff.
The building’s geometry reflects the dynamic flow of students changing classes, creating a swirling pattern around the circular two-story central space. This simple, clear concept shaped the building’s design and is evident in the circulation patterns of its occupants.
At its heart, architecture is about people; the relationships between the individual and community, work and leisure, between every level of planning and execution. That’s why, of all the projects in our 18-year-deep, 26-state-wide portfolio, we’re especially excited to work with career-technical educational facilities.

Students’ career tracks require both precision and flexibility—so do their learning spaces. Creating opportunities for students requires the rigor of real-world experiences within the security of their campus. And because innovation keeps moving forward, we design environments that create those experiences now and can keep pace with tomorrow’s changes.
We work as advocates beyond design. To make educational progress a reality, our role in Baldwin Prep and future projects extends beyond blueprints:
Great schools require more than thoughtful design, they require a story that connects with the community they serve. Davis South Barnette & Patrick, a strategic advertising and communications agency, was brought on board to introduce Baldwin Prep to the region. DSB&P developed the school’s brand and led its launch campaign—and the results speak for themselves.
Managing Baldwin Prep’s paid media strategy, producing a series of video stories featuring students, educators and industry partners, and targeting key audiences with strategic messaging worked to highlight the real-world opportunities the school provides through career-focused education.
Through public relations outreach, DSB&P also secured coverage across television, print and digital outlets, introducing Baldwin Prep’s innovative model to prospective students and families. The result was a launch that exceeded expectations—generating nearly 10× the projected number of applications and more than $600,000 in earned media coverage.
Business and industry partners are a vital part of student success. Baldwin Alliance, the economic development agency for Baldwin County, works to bridge the gap between education and industry through meaningful engagement opportunities. Through a variety of programs, Baldwin Alliance works with Baldwin Prep to bring local professionals to campus, host field trips, job site visits, and career fairs. These are just a few of the opportunities that give students direct access to employers and firsthand insight into career paths and possibilities.
Lawyers are legally obligated to rattle on at the end about how no representation is being made that the services they’re offering are any better than anyone else’s. That law doesn’t apply to advertising. Our services are better because our results are better.
